Integration of users with functional diversity in the information society

This workpackage will research technology integration with users with functional diversity in different areas of the knowledge society so that all users can live and work adequately in the main areas of everyday life, in particular: interaction with electronic communications media, especially digital TV; teleassistance, telemedicine and personal monitoring; interaction with home automation systems; mobility and wayfinding for users with functional diversity in public places; interaction with different banking services; correct and adequate identification and acquisition of products and services; use of classroom-based and distance education services using e-learning; and workplace integration. All the preceding will enable progress in research and lead to technological advance that will allow users with functional disabilities to integrate more completely in the different areas of everyday life.

Goals

  • Carry out a series of interrelated research activities to improve integration of users with functional disabilities in the knowledge society 
  • Design suitable systems to promote adequate integration of the functional disabilities of different users with adapted technology devices and the environment.
  • Carry out tests using different technological platforms in order to arrive at solutions that improve integration in the different contexts proposed.
