Workpackages

User interfaces and device configuration

This workpackage covers research into the requirements of users with disabilities who access general-purpose machines and services by means of specific interaction systems. Starting with the results of user tests a set of accessibility guidelines will be compiled with the aim of them serving as a guide for designers of general-purpose user interfaces. A user-task-context model will be developed that can then be used by adaptive interfaces to automatically modify their mode of interaction. Finally, a methodology for the design of adaptive interfaces will be proposed, based on modelling of user, task and context.

Goals

  • Know the requirements for interaction of users with functional diversity who access different services, especially those characteristic of the information society.
  • Compile a list of user, task and context parameters that are relevant to interaction and to design a model based on those parameters.
  • Propose a design methodology for universally accessible adaptive interfaces based on modelling of user, task and context.
