Workpackages

Assistive technology and ubiquitous software

This workpackage will research integration of the interoperability protocol with different assistive technologies. The intent of the research is to offer users with functional diversity the possibility of accessing assistive technology in a ubiquitous way, using either desktop or mobile technologies. Once the protocol has been integrated with assistive technologies, research will be carried out into methodologies that allow personalisation of interaction between user and machine and between person and environment. Finally it will research a model for development of accessible user interfaces for mobile devices and structuring according to the reference MDA (Model Driven Architecture) in order to allow automatic development of interfaces based on standardised requirements models.

Goals

  • Integrate the protocol model developed in workpackage 3 with the user devices and their respective ubiquitous assistive technologies.
  • Investigate personal adaptation systems in the field of assistive technologies for user with functional diversity.
  • Design a model for development of adaptive user interfaces for users with mobile devices and assistive technologies.
