Interoperability protocols

This workpackage studies possible technical, semantic and organisational specifications that the protocol has to take into account. It will identify functional requirements for the protocol and by developing a SWOT study of existing protocols will create a detailed map of the current situation. In the same way it will identify problems not yet covered by any current protocol which could be solved by this project. It will investigate the most important requirements that any proposed protocol should take into account. Finally, it will consider a communications protocol that can ensure interoperability with existing technologies. To validate the protocol model an experimental platform will be developed to evaluate the features of the protocol and to define the essential parameters that will ensure the viability of the technology and its applicability. This platform will be based on a mathematical simulation environment that will simulate the real behaviour of the protocol.
